World’s largest solar power plant in China

Xinjiang: The world’s largest solar power plant was inaugurated in China. The plant is capable of supplying energy to a small country that consumes more than 6 billion kilowatts of electricity annually.
This facility to be established in China’s Xinjiang province is spread over 2 lakh acres. The area is roughly the size of New York City.
This 5-gigawatt complex, which is now connected to the grid station in China, will soon be able to complete the country’s machinery, which is as big as Luxembourg.

China has done more around the world by leading the country to solar energy. In the year 2023, it will have increased its production capacity by 50%.
As this new solar farm was launched, the Ningxia Tenggeli and Golmud Wutumeiren Solar PV Park in China became much smaller and became the largest solar farm in the world.
According to the International Energy Agency (IIA), China’s electricity generation system has been rated as the best in a recently released report. According to the report, last year, in 2022, China produced more solar energy than the electricity produced in the whole world.
