Washington: A recent report revealed that since the US government legalized the use of marijuana across all states, a large number of young people, along with elders, are becoming victims of this addiction.

Research has been conducted by the American Food and Drug Administration and found that about 56 million people are affected by marijuana-related medical problems. This rate is rapidly increase from 2017 to 2023.

According to the study of doctor Sylvia Perezviller, the FDA team’s analysis showed that in the last 5 years, the use of marijuana among older people has increased rapidly.

Experts are showing concern about the rapidly increasing number of marijuana-related mental and health issues in the past few years. Another study said that those people who are addicted to marijuana are facing 11% more mental and health issues as compared to normal people.

The FDA team further said that according to the data provided by the medical institution, older people are becoming more addicted to marijuana, and this is directly related to the legalization of marijuana use all over the United States.
