Wu Weiren also said that ILRS will be the organized station network that will use the station in orbit as the central hub while the station at the south pole will be the central base. He further said that this research station on the moon will also help us in exploring the equatorial region and other places on the moon. He also said that this research center will be powered by solar, nuclear, and radioisotope generators.
Russia also shows interest in building a nuclear power plant on the moon to provide power through nuclear generators to ILRS.
China expects that this research center will also help in missions sent to Mars till 20250.
China released the road map of this research center back in 2021, and other countries like Pakistan, Russia, the UAE, and Brazil also showed their interest in it and wanted to be a part of this mission. China is also planning to send humans to the moon by the end of this decade.
