The collision of our Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy has now started.

Washington: Recent research might shock you because researchers said that the process of the collision of our Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy has now started.
A paper was published in the journal Nature Astronomy. According to this paper, a team of international scientists published a new definition for the boundary between circumgalactic medium (CGM) and interstellar space. CGM is basically a vast halo of gas and dust that is surrounded by each galaxy.

So each galaxy, either its Milky Way or Andromeda, is surrounded by CGM, and the collision of CGM of both galaxies has now started.
Previously, the Hubble telescope predicted that the collision of the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies would take place in 4 billion years.
But now the latest data tells us that the collision has already started.
