In Antarctica in 1986, the greenery on this continent was 1.1 square miles, while in 2024 this greenery has now reached 16.3 square miles.
Studies show that in the past 60 years, the temperature in Antarctica has increased significantly. The highest rate of warming was found in the West Antarctic and Antarctic Peninsula regions, while the increase is much faster than the global average temperature.
The research published in Nature GeoScience says that if we compare the study related to spreading greenery in Antarctica from 1986 to 2024, then from 2016 to 2024 the greenery spread more rapidly, almost 30% in this phase, which is quite dangerous for our Earth.
