In South Korea, a top administrative officer, AI Robot, was employed by the Gumi City Council. A very hard-working robot fell from the 6-and-a-half-foot stairs, and this was considered the first robot suicide.

Different people are telling different stories. Some say this was an emotional breakdown; others say the robot was unable to handle the workload and committed suicide, but according to experts, this might have been due to a technical malfunction.

The working time of this AI robot was from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., just like for regular employees. As per witnesses, the robot was moving around a specific spot before the incident occurred. Officials stated that the pieces of the broken robot have been collected for forensic examination.

This robot has been working since August 2023 and is responsible for delivering documents, providing public information, and promoting city events. This robot was developed by California-based Bear Robotics.
