The end of the International Space Station

Washington: SpaceX and NASA meet hands to push the ISS out of space orbit, which means the end of the International Space Station.

The ISS (International Space Station) was launched on November 20, 1998, almost 25 years ago, and now that it has almost completed its life, NASA wants to kick it out of space, but this is a huge problem for them. ISS orbits on low earth with the collaboration of five space agencies.NASA (US), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada)—this is the largest space station ever built.

According to media reports, NASA and SpaceX have signed an agreement under which SpaceX will develop a special space vehicle that pushes the ISS out of orbit, which means the end of the International Space Station.

In September 2023, NASA announced the contract for a space vehicle named Deorbit that will push the ISS out of space. This decision was taken when NASA and the stakeholders of the ISS were on the same page that the ISS had completed its life.

The size of the ISS is almost equal to a huge football field, and its debris could cause significant damage to the Earth if debris reaches the Earth. That is why NASA wants a space vehicle that ensures that the job is done right on the first attempt.

In the contract between NASA and SpaceX, the cost of this mission will be 843 million US dollars, but the amount of sending a special space vehicle into space is not included in it.
